Vince, Eva, and daughters Karin and Elizabeth, had an enjoyable trip to California. We attended the wedding of our Godson, Matt. Matt is the youngest son of friends of ours whom we met 35 years ago when we were neighbors in the Philadelphia area.
A trip to the Bay Area is not complete without a visit to the "Bridge". As expected, fog was covering some of the view. San Francisco is on the other side of the bridge.
A view of fog shrouded Alcatraz from the northern end of the Goden Gate Bridge.
We managed to do some cost cutting by renting an economy car. While it was fuel efficient, it was also quite exciting driving it on the freeways.

My husband Jason and I have been pretty busy these past few months. Jason has returned to college to complete his Bachelors degree in addition to continuing to work full-time as an electrician. He is pursuing an online degree program in the business/management field and hopes to complete sometime next summer. I'm still working as an Intensive Case Manager for the Cumberland-Perry Drug & Alcohol Commission (love my job, believe it or not), and outside of work, I spend a lot of time riding and teaching riding lessons at a barn in Newville, PA. I adopted a 5-year old off-track thoroughbred last fall (Charlie); we've recently been competing in some local horse shows and doing pretty well (see attached photo). When we both find some free time together, Jason and I enjoy going tubing and kayaking with our friends and our dog, Callie.
Unfortunately, with Jason's very busy school schedule, we're cancelling our annual Labor Day party this year, but we hope to have it again next year. We ARE taking a long weekend mini-vacation in October, however, to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. (Hard to believe it's been 5 years already!)
We hope all is well with everyone and send along our best wishes. Take care and enjoy your summer!

Claire & Tom's granddaughter, Bekah, graduated from high school this past June. Bekah is the daughter of Terry and Tim. During their visit to attend the graduation ceremonies, Claire & Tom also saw Bekah play in the All Star lacross game.
While in high school Bekah was in the marching band for 4 years and was also a 4 year starter on the varsity lacrosse team. In addition, she found time to be a member of the National Honor Society and also earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Doe. (Her Italian heritage is obvious).
She will be leaving sunny Southern California to attend college in Indiana on an academic scholarship. She will also play on the lacrosse team. Since Bekah has never lived in a cold climate she will need to stock up on winter clothes, boots, gloves and all the other stuff us Northeasterners have in our closets.
